The Brief
The client’s existing decorative garden fencing had become weathered, tired, and dated. Although the old arched lattice panels had provided some privacy, they no longer gave the clean, high-quality finish the client wanted for their outdoor space.
The brief was to replace the old fencing with a smarter, more modern timber fence that would improve privacy, security, and the overall appearance of the garden, while still maintaining a decorative finish that allowed light through and complemented the garden’s character.
As experienced local fencing contractors, we recommended a premium Jacksons timber fence with trellis top detailing. This gave the client a strong, practical boundary while keeping the garden attractive, open, and well suited to the existing planting and patio area. The Challenge
The main challenge was working carefully around the established garden borders, shrubs, paving, and patio areas. There were also several underground pipes along the fence line, so extra care was required during installation to avoid disturbing existing services.
The fence line ran alongside planted beds and close to the property, meaning the installation needed to be carried out with care to avoid unnecessary damage or disruption.
The new fence also needed to follow the existing boundary accurately while creating a much cleaner and more consistent finish than the original panels. Because this was a decorative garden fencing project, attention to detail was essential. The finished fence had to be strong and secure while also being visually appealing from within the garden.
Our Approach
We began by removing the old decorative fence panels and clearing the boundary line in preparation for the new installation. The area was prepared carefully, with particular attention paid to the existing planting, paving edges, garden layout, and underground services.
New timber posts and gravel boards were installed to create a strong and durable base. The new decorative timber fencing was then fitted with trellis top panels to provide the perfect balance of privacy, security, and style.
Every panel was installed with care to ensure the fence line was straight, consistent, and professionally finished. The trellis top detail helped soften the appearance of the boundary, while the solid lower panels provided the privacy and structure the client wanted.
Once the installation was complete, all waste was removed from the site, and the garden was left clean and tidy.
