The Brief
The client’s existing fencing had become unstable, weathered, and unsafe, with several panels leaning and no longer providing a secure boundary. The client wanted the old fencing removed and replaced with a stronger, cleaner, and longer-lasting solution that would improve privacy and give the garden a much smarter finish.
The brief was to install a robust new fence line using quality materials that would complement the existing garden layout, patio areas, and side access, while ensuring the finished installation was neat, practical, and easy to maintain over the long term.
The Challenge
The existing fence was badly leaning in places and had deteriorated over time. Access was restricted from the neighbour’s side, so extra care was essential in certain areas, particularly along the side passage between the properties. This required careful working around walls, paving, drainage, and existing garden features.
The garden also included varying ground levels, patio edges, planting, and neighbouring boundaries, so the new fence line needed to be installed accurately while keeping disruption to the surrounding areas to a minimum.
Our Approach
We began by carefully removing the old damaged fencing and clearing the working area. Once the old panels had been removed, we prepared the boundary line for the new installation.
Concrete posts and gravel boards were installed to provide a strong, durable structure and to help protect the timber panels from ground contact. New closeboard fence panels were then fitted to create a clean, consistent, and secure boundary.
Particular care was taken around the side access and patio areas to ensure the installation remained neat, level, and tidy throughout. The work was completed with a full site clean-up, leaving the client with a significantly improved, low-maintenance fence line.

Outdoor space transformed
The finished project completely transformed the garden boundary. The new fencing provides improved privacy, security, and appearance, replacing the old leaning panels with a strong, professional finish.
The use of concrete posts and gravel boards provides a longer-lasting structure, while the new timber panels brighten the garden and create a much cleaner backdrop to the lawn, patio, and side access areas.
