Bletchley, Milton Keynes
The Brief
The client required a practical garden renovation to improve a narrow side garden area at their property in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. The space included existing raised beds, a greenhouse area, and an old timber boundary fence, but the garden had become tired, uneven, and difficult to maintain.
The aim was to create a cleaner, more usable garden space with new timber raised beds, a neat gravel pathway, and a stronger timber boundary fence. The client wanted to retain the productive feel of the garden for planting and growing while improving access, structure, privacy, and long-term durability.
CC Fencing, as experienced landscaping and fencing specialists in Milton Keynes, provided a complete solution, from clearance and preparation through to timber construction, fencing, gravel path installation, and finishing. The project combined practical garden landscaping with raised bed construction and new timber fencing to create a more organised and attractive outdoor space.
The Challenge
The main challenge was working within a narrow garden area with established planting, shrubs, a greenhouse, and existing raised beds already in place. The space needed careful planning to improve access while keeping the productive growing areas intact.
The old timber fencing had weathered and was no longer providing the clean, secure boundary the client wanted. Replacing the fence required accurate post installation and careful working around the existing beds, greenhouse, and planting areas.
The pathway also needed significant improvement. The existing route through the garden was muddy and uneven, making access difficult during wet weather. A long-lasting gravel path installation required proper preparation, timber edging, and a stable base to help keep the route neat, practical, and low maintenance.
As with all garden landscaping projects in Milton Keynes, the finished result needed to be durable, easy to maintain, and visually consistent while working with the existing garden layout.
Our Approach
We began by clearing the working area and removing the old fencing and tired timber materials. The boundary line was prepared for the new timber fence, with careful setting out to ensure a straight, secure, and professional finish.
New timber posts and fencing were installed to create a stronger and more attractive garden boundary. The new fence immediately improved privacy, security, and the overall appearance of the garden.
The raised beds were then rebuilt and improved using treated timber. This created strong, defined planting areas suitable for shrubs, flowers, vegetables, and general growing. The timber raised beds were positioned to maintain the productive use of the space while giving the garden a much cleaner structure.
For the pathway, we prepared and levelled the ground before installing timber edging and a gravel grid system. This helped stabilise the surface and reduce movement within the gravel. Decorative gravel was then laid to create a neat, low-maintenance garden path leading through the space towards the greenhouse.
The planting areas were tidied, soil levels were improved where required, and the whole site was cleared on completion.
The Result
Modern & Refined
Outdoor Space Transformed
The finished project delivers a much cleaner, stronger, and more practical garden area in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. The new timber boundary fencing gives the space a brighter, more secure, and more professional finish, while the raised beds provide clearly defined and practical planting areas.
The decorative gravel path has transformed access through the garden, replacing the muddy walkway with a stable, low-maintenance surface that works well alongside the greenhouse and growing areas.
This project highlights the value of combining timber fencing, raised bed installation, and gravel path construction as part of a practical garden renovation. From boundary fencing and timber raised beds to pathway preparation, gravel grids, and decorative stone, every detail contributes to a more usable, attractive, and well-organised garden space.
