The Brief
The client’s existing boundary fence in Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes, had become heavily overgrown with ivy, shrubs, and mature vegetation. The old fencing was tired, dark, difficult to maintain, and no longer provided the clean, secure boundary the client needed.
The brief was to remove the overgrowth, take down the old fencing, clear the area properly, and install a strong new timber fence that would improve privacy, security, and the overall appearance of the garden.
As experienced local fencing contractors in Milton Keynes, we were also able to manage the waste removal ourselves using our higher-tier waste carrier licence. This meant there was no need for a skip sitting on the client’s drive while waiting to be collected once the job was complete.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge was completing the full boundary fence replacement and vegetation clearance in one day, particularly because the fence line backed onto a public footpath. Security was a priority for the client, so the boundary needed not to be left open overnight.
The existing fence was heavily covered with ivy and established growth, which had taken hold across large sections of the boundary. This made the removal more time-consuming and required careful clearance before the new fencing could be installed.
There was also a shared access path to consider, so the work needed to be carried out safely, neatly, and with minimal disruption. The new fence line had to follow the existing boundary accurately while working around paving, neighbouring gardens, mature trees, and established planting.
Our Approach
We began by carefully cutting back and removing the overgrown ivy and vegetation to expose the original fence line. Once the boundary was visible and accessible, the old fencing was removed, and the area was prepared for the new installation.
New timber fencing was installed using strong timber posts and gravel boards to create a durable, secure, and tidy finish. Care was taken to keep the fence line straight and consistent along both the garden side and the rear public footpath.
Because we have years of experience installing fencing across Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, we were able to plan the work efficiently, keep the site organised, and complete the replacement within the required timeframe.
Once the fencing was complete, all waste was removed from the site by us, leaving the garden and access path clean, safe, and ready to use.

The finished project made a huge difference to both the appearance and security of the garden. The overgrown, tired boundary was replaced with a smart new timber fence, creating a brighter, cleaner, and more private outdoor space.
The new fencing also improved the appearance of the rear access path, making the whole boundary feel much tidier and better maintained. Most importantly, the client had a secure new fence installed in just one day, with all vegetation, old fencing, and waste removed from the site.
